Announcement: The HIVE will be closed from Wednesday 8th September and will re-open Thursday 16th September.  Tickets currently on sale within the HIVE can be purchased from the Community Support Office.  The Cyta Net representative will be situated within the Families Housing office on Wednesday 8th September and Wednesday 15th September. 

The HIVE supports the Chain of Command in the provision of up-to date relevant information to the Service community.

There are various categories on the website, but I would like to provide you some detail on the Akrotiri HIVE section.

HIVE Information Officer– These are my contact details.  Please do not hesitate to contact me with any queries that you have, no matter how small it may be.  I have lived in Akrotiri for a total of 7 years so am sure I will be able to help, or know someone that can.

Information Sheets – These contain relevant information on a variety of topics including: Childcare; Education; Housing, Employment, Sports & recreation and Motoring etc.  The information sheets have been divided into sections.  This is to make it easier for you to find the right documents at the right time in your assignment process.

Pre-assignment: This is information you may require when you have just received your posting notification. In conjunction with A Cyprus posting these sheets have been identified by the Service Community as information relevant to you during the planning to move stage.

Initial Arrival: These sheets contain information you may find useful during your first two weeks on island.  They detail the things you may need to do; such as set up your internet connection and open a bank account, as well as the location of the local supermarkets and DIY stores.

General Information: These sheets are aimed for when you have settled in and wish to find out a bit more about Akrotiri and the surrounding areas.  They include places to stay for visitors, Sports and recreational activities and ideas for days out.

Community News: Articles are published here that have relevance for the service community.  There will be details of local events, new clubs or groups, as well and information such as changes to Supermarket opening times and road closures.

Local & Unit Info: This contains information on the various clubs and groups that are on station.  Also details the latest cinema schedules.

Picture Gallery: I have tried to include pictures you will find useful; there are pictures of Single Accommodation, Sgt and Officers Messes, Married Quarters, Sporting facilities and general pictures of the station.  If there is anything specific you wish to see please let me know and I will see what I can do.

The information on this website is always being updated but if you see anything you feel is out of date please let me know, also if you feel that there is something we have missed.  This website is to meet your needs in the Service Community.
